If you are in Barcelona on April 23, you will be in the city on Sant Jordi Daya day when the locals celebrate the patron saint of the area, St. Jordi.
Throughout the day, couples, families and friends exchange books and roses with each other and enjoy the festivities. There are many stalls and markets around the city to explore, mainly centered around RaMPlusHowever, Plaça Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia.
