Without further delay, here are the investors the contenders need to impress: Jory Bella general partner of Playground Global; Mark Pugetco-founder and CEO of Seraphim Space; Tess Hatch, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP); And the Emily HenricksonDirector of Root Ventures.

Jory Bell He secured some of Playground Global’s first investments, including Nervana Systems (which was acquired by Intel). His first three investments in the company are now unicorn companies, and last year one of them, Velo3D, went public.

Bell leads the company’s investment efforts in deep technology areas, including advanced manufacturing, aerospace, computational therapies, energy, genomics, materials, next-generation computing, and quantum and synthetic biology. His portfolio includes Mangata Networks, Relativity Space, and Strand Therapeutics, to name a few.

Mark PugetIt is a leading space technology investment firm, co-founder of the Seraphim Space Fund and has invested in a portfolio of three companies that have achieved multi-billion dollar valuations. Pugett previously served as a director at YFM Equity Partners, the company behind high-profile British small firms VCT 1 and 2.

Boggett has also worked for Brewin Dolphin and Williams de Broë. He completed his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance, and has an MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Leeds.

Tess Hatch, a BVP partner based in Silicon Valley, fosters entrepreneurship in frontier technology, specifically the commercialization of aerospace, drones, autonomous vehicles, agriculture and food technology. She is currently a Director on the Boards of DroneDeploy, Iris Automation, Phantom Auto, and Spire Global, and as an Observer on the Boards of Black Sheep Foods, Forever Oceans, Rocket Lab, and Velo3D.

Hatch is included in the Forbes list of 30 Under 30 Venture Capitalists. She speaks and posts regularly for Bloomberg, TechCrunch, and other publications about space technology and frontiers. Earlier in her career, she worked for Boeing and then SpaceX, working with the government to integrate its payloads with the Falcon 9 rocket.

Hatch holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Stanford University.

Emily Henrickson He is a principal at Root Ventures, a company focused on investing in three areas: tools and infrastructure, low-cost robotics, and hardware and data science. Prior to joining Root, she worked as a propulsion engineer and designed flight hardware for the SpaceX Falcon and built a supervised vehicle for schedule-critical missions.

Henriksson also worked on the Model 3 Battery Module team at Tesla. She holds a master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
