The longest-serving athlete remains in Philadelphia in 2023.

The one-year deal is worth up to $6 million, ESPN’s Tim McManus mentioned.

Graham, who turns 35 next month, probably could have made more money on the open market, but it’s really hard to imagine him ever wearing another uniform. That way, he gets a solid deal and the chance to make at least one playoff run with the Eagles.

“I definitely don’t want to miss this tournament that we’re about to have,” Graham told ESPN. “I took out a lot [agent] Joel [Segal] Just to get a deal before free agency, so I won’t have to go through that part. I am so glad it all paid off.

“It wasn’t even about not having money. It was about wanting to be an eagle as long as I could still play at a high level, and of course I still have a bad taste in my mouth about how things turned out this past year.”

It’s not like this is a movement based on emotion either. Graham became a part-time starter in 2022, but he thrived, even coming off a torn achilles that ended his season in 2021 early. Graham played only 43% of the Eagles’ defensive tackle in 2022 but played every game and recorded a career-high 11 sacks.

In 2023, the Eagles will advance with Hasson Riddick And Josh Sweet As a starter, Graham’s return as a solid third choice in the rotation is a huge boost. They also remain Derek Barnett under contract Barnett tore his ACL early in the 2022 season.

The Eagles drafted Graham in the first round in 2010 from Michigan and the first part of his career didn’t go as planned. Many people even called him a bust and that name stuck with him.

But eventually Graham overcame all of that, becoming a starter, Super Bowl and Pro Bowl champion, and one of the most famous Eagles in recent history.

In 2023, Graham will tie Chuck Bednarik for most seasons played in an Eagles uniform with 14. Graham has said before that his goal is to play 15 years in the NFL.

Graham has already played 178 games in an Eagles uniform. It’s the fourth most in franchise history, but he has a chance to be No. 1 if he stays healthy this coming season.

1. David Akers: 188
2. Brian Dawkins: 183
3. Harold Carmichael: 180
4. Brandon Graham: 178
