Buck Showalter joke cracks on Mets plan to score HBP ball

Mets midfielder Mark Kanha was injured two games earlier in the game, both times by Brewers’ player Adrian Hauser.

The pitch that hit Guillorme, however, broke the modern MLB era record for the most HBPs for a single team in a season.

The ball, thrown by Brewers loyal Jake Cousins, was then thrown to Mets manager Buck Showalter in the dugout. Apparently, Showalter wanted to keep a piece of the team’s history.
