Casemiro has been suspended for Man United’s traumatic trip to Arsenal

Manchester United were dealt a heavy blow ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with leaders Arsenal after Casemiro decided to be suspended due to the difficult trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Casemiro, who has made such a massive impact with United since his £60m move from Real Madrid, was shown his fifth yellow card of the season for a cynical foul on Wilfried Zaha during the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

United were leading 1-0 at the time and on course for a 10th successive win in all competitions. But in his attempt to prevent the separation of the palace, Casemiro repulsed Zaha with a strong shock that she might be lucky not to punish them more harshly.

The Brazilian immediately showed his frustration at his teammate Bruno Fernandes, giving him a thoughtful look united The captain, after he came out of the challenge a few seconds ago, helped break the ball to advance Zaha.

Casemiro He did brilliantly in South London, splitting up play in midfield and giving his teammates a platform on which to perform.

His presence in recent months has highlighted the vital importance of having a world-class defensive midfielder, but his yellow card and perhaps the realization he will miss the trip to Arsenal He seemed to stun United enough for Palace to finish stronger and snatch a point.

Casemiro moved from Real Madrid in the summer just a few months after winning his fifth Champions League title and initially fell short of a starting place under Erik ten Hag while getting time to learn the tactical system in place at his new club.

His last Premier League game as a substitute was the 6-3 annihilation at the hands of Manchester City in October, with United becoming the ideal team for the country once he becomes a regular starter.

United have already beaten Arsenal once this season, the only team in the Premier League to do so. But finding a way to replicate that against Arsenal at home will now be more difficult.
