With the FIFA World Cup 2022 still in full swing, with crucial matches for Group C and D today, football-related fan icons are still largely in the red. However, Chiliz (CHZ) seems to be finding more room to expand. Soccer Blockchain has joined FanFest to introduce Chiliz Chain 2.0, which bypasses the popular fan token platform Socios.com.

Have NFTs become the new ticketing standard?
FanFest has worked with top-tier European football clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester City (ManC) in the past year. The sports-oriented company has also garnered more than 20 million fans worldwide and is now looking forward to issuing POS codes.
According to the latest tweet, new football-related NFTs will be available once Chiliz 2.0 (CC2) is live. The upgraded CHZ blockchain mainnet should be available within a week, so football fans will be able to test it out before the World Cup is over.
Football fan icons take center stage for the World Cup
Despite a strong performance so far in the World Cup, the Spanish National Football Team (SNFT) cryptocurrency has been dragged through the mud with a deficit of 66.9% since the start of the biggest sporting event of the year.
On the other hand, Brazil, one of the biggest contenders for the title, also has to contend with the cryptic music of winter despite recording back-to-back clean-sheet victories over Serbia and Switzerland. The Brazilian National Football Team (BFT) cryptocurrency has fallen by 6.3% in the past 24 hours alone, with a total deficit of 70.3% in the past two weeks.
At the time of publication, the Brazil National Football Team (BFT) Fan Token is priced at $0.241424, according to Queen Gekko. Moreover, the decline in the market price of BFT marks the lowest position in the past three months.

on the flip side
- After Saudi Arabia’s thrilling victory over Argentina, the Saudi NFT pool skyrocketed, sending the base NFT price up to 0.3 (ETH).
- Fan tokens for the Argentine Football Association (ARG) have fallen by 35% since the stunning defeat to Saudi Arabia, but the Argentine soccer cryptocurrency is still up 83.6% in yearly terms.
Why should you bother
According to the latest KuCoin survey, 70% of cryptocurrency investors are watching the World Cup. Besides, half of them tend to invest in fan tokens.
