Manchester United boss Eric ten Hag has confirmed he spoke with Sir Jim Ratcliffe during the potential owner’s tour of Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe was in Manchester on Friday to attend a presentation about buying the club and continue talks with United officials, 24 hours after representatives of rival Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani attended Old Trafford.
Ten Hag has now revealed that he has spoken with Ratcliffe and his team, though he was keen to walk away from takeover talks.
“I just met them; we shook hands but I’m focused on the match,” said Ten Hag on Friday.
“We have a big game on Sunday against Fulham. Others at the club are dealing with potential investors.

“My job is to focus on the game, so let’s talk about the Fulham game, it’s a big draw so let’s prepare for that.”
He also met Ratcliffe united CEO Richard Arnold and INEOS executives Sir David Brailsford, Andy Currie, John Rhys, Rob Nevin and Jean-Claude Blanc joined him.
His presence at Old Trafford endeared Ratcliffe to many United fans who were surprised that Sheikh Jassim chose to send a delegation on his behalf, rather than travel to Manchester himself.
