Ronald Koeman got off to the worst possible start for the Netherlands after losing 4-0 to France.

Antoine Griezmann – in the headlines this week after being overlooked to succeed Hugo Lloris as captain – opened the scoring with just two minutes at Stade de France, with Dayot Upamecano adding another shortly after.

Although the Netherlands managed to stem the tide after the first half, Mbappe found the net late on with a superb strike, sacking two defenders before reaching the far corner.

Upamecano missed a stoppage-time penalty after handling the ball, though Mike Maignan saved a Memphis Depay penalty to cap off a miserable evening for the Netherlands, who went 20-game unbeaten by Louis van Gaal at the first attempt by his successor. .

Gibraltar 0-3 Greece
