Hackett shot 15 games in his tenure with the Broncos after R.JThe culmination of a season that included a downtrodden offense, and several decision-making errors and scored 4-11. Despite his failures in Denver, Hackett has experience in the coordinator role. He spent three seasons as offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, four with the Jacksonville Jaguars (one as quarterbacking coach) and two with Buffalo bills.
Robert Saleh overlapped with Hackett, the Jets’ head coach, when they were both on the Jaguars’ coaching staff in 2016. Saleh was the team’s linebackers coach while Hackett was the quarterbacks coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator following the firing of Gus Bradley.
The Jets have reached out to plenty of offensive coaches for their role as the team’s post-season open coordinator Parted ways with Mike Lafleur last week.
