Cardano has successfully completed the long-awaited network upgrade – Vasil Hard Fork. The Cardano Foundation has been delighted with this highly anticipated upgrade.

In a tweet published on Wednesday, Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), the engineering team behind the Cardano blockchain, clarified that with this latest addition, it will meet all three critical mass indexes necessary for a hard fork.

The first of these indicators includes the development of 39 exchanges and their preparation for the hard fork. The second indicator is that more than 98% of the main blocks are now generated by the Vasil node (1.35.3). And last but not least, the best decentralized Cardano apps by Total Locked Value (TLV) confirmed that they are tested and ready for Vasil Hard Fork.

Among other updates, the IOHK Readiness Blog also provides details of the exchange’s list and readiness status. It should be noted that Coinbase (NASDAQ đŸ™‚ is the only major exchange that is still “in progress”. The remaining exchanges are “ready” according to the information on the site.

After being delayed several times, Vasil’s promotion is named after the late Vasil St Dabov, who was an important member of the Cardano community. Vasil is also Cardano’s most ambitious updater to date.

It is believed that the upgrade will bring significant improvements using Cardano’s hard fork combinator (HFC) approach. This development is also expected to enhance network performance by increasing throughput, script efficiency, and reducing latency in a block transmission. The crypto community is eagerly waiting to see the impact of this upgrade on the network and ADA price.
