WhatsApp recently launched a new feature on both Android and iOS that allows users to take a poll in chat. The instant messaging platform now allows users to measure consensus using polls in both groups, as well as in one-on-one or personal chats.
The WhatsApp polling feature is currently only available on the mobile version, in both iOS and Android. However, Meta is expected to soon allow it on WhatsApp for Web soon.
WhatsApp allows users to add up to 12 options in a survey. The feature allows users to cast their vote by simply clicking on the available option. Users also have the option to select multiple options available within a survey, if the original survey selector allows them to do so.
The poll is automatically updated each time a new vote is cast. Only regular users or people who have not set up the survey but have voted can view the data related to the survey. Users just need to go to the poll and click on View Votes. They will then see the details of the poll including who voted and which option was selected by others.
We take a quick look at how to use the new poll feature on WhatsApp for Android and iOS devices.
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp application on your smartphone
Step 2: Now open the individual or group chat in which you want to create the poll.
Step 3: Next, hit the Attach button located on the side of the message box and hit the survey icon.
The fourth step: In the Create Survey window, add your question and then options to choose from. You can add up to 12 options.
Fifth step: You can also click and drag the “Hamburger” icon to the right of the survey options to change the order.
Sixth step: Once you have added questions and options, click on the green submit option. You have just created your first survey.
