Eli Manning go undercover In August at the Penn State football Trials for his latest episode of Eli places on ESPN+, but James Franklin was initially hesitant.
Coach Nittany Lions was worried that Manning’s stunt would interfere with the team’s training camp, but in the end it was only required for 10 minutes.
“Really, they were able to sort of make 99 percent of it without disrupting our regular routine,” He said. “I think I had to give them 10 minutes of my time, which took time apart from lunch or a walk, which is fine. So once I was comfortable with the fact that we would be able to do it, and it didn’t affect our regular routine or become a distraction, Then we were all just spinning it around.”
Manning disguised himself as Chad Powers, a home-schooled freshman who never played organized football. ESPN released only a few minutes of the episode as a promotion, but it actually went viral on social media.
Franklin liked the way it looked and thought it was a way to promote football in Pennsylvania.
