White had a great start to the 2022/23 season in ArsenalHe succeeded in serving as a right-back and helping the team win all but one of its first six matches in the Premier League.
Despite his shape and positional prowess, the former Brighton man was not included in three lions squad For the upcoming international holiday—with Harry Maguire and Mark Guy preferred over Wyatt.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Arteta admitted his surprise at his defender’s exclusion: “He’s physically fit. Gareth picks the best team he thinks he is at the moment. The team he’s picked for November is incredible. Anything we can do to help Ben, we’re trying to do.
“I think Ben gives a lot of reasons to be picked. That’s all we can do. He’s played in both positions and was chosen sometimes and not. I think you have a versatile player who plays at this level in both positions as central defender and full-back is something any manager would want. in my opinion.
“Especially when you go to a tournament where a lot of things can happen. That’s the decision of Gareth and his coaching staff. Whenever he gets the call, he’ll be ready.”
