Milan are in talks with Roma over Tottenham’s Nicolo Zaniolo goal

Sources said Milan held talks with Roma about a January move for Nicolo Zaniolo 90 minutes.

Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho has admitted that the versatile striker has asked to leave the club, but they have yet to receive an acceptable offer for him during this transfer window.

90 minutes mentioned Last week, Tottenham and Roma held talks over a potential €30m deal, although it has been difficult to agree a structure.

Tottenham want an initial loan with an optional buy-out clause and only mandatory if they qualify for the Champions League, while Roma want the clause to be mandatory regardless.

Tottenham have now joined Zaniolo’s race to Italian champions AC Milan, whom they will face in the Champions League last 16 in February and March. It is believed that manager Paolo Maldini is a fan of the Italian international.

Milan have offered to take the 23-year-old on loan, but they are decisively ready to add Roma’s sought-after commitment to buy him at the end of the season. They have so far offered a fee of €25m, which is well below the asking price.

Zaniolo has struggled to reach his previous heights with Roma this season. He scored the winner in last year’s Europa League final, but has failed to start this season.
