We’ve already seen quite a few leaks of the upcoming foldable clamshell Motorola. We’re relatively certain that it will be Huge cover screen — the biggest we’ve seen on this style of phone, in fact.
Unfortunately, it does not seem that the battery capacity of the phone will increase along with the cover screen. according to MySmartPriceThe Motorola Razr Plus — the alleged retail name for the 2023 Razr — could land a battery capacity of just 2,850mAh.
the 2022 Razr (which was launched as a China exclusive first before slowly being rolled out globally) packs a 3,500mAh battery. the 2020 Motorola Razr 5G 2800 mAh battery. That means the claimed battery capacity for the 2023 Razr is only nominally larger than the 2020 model and at least 19% smaller than last year’s.
When you consider that the battery life on the Razrs was already mediocre and then receive that huge new cover screen, we can only imagine that the battery life of the Motorola Razr Plus could be awful. We’ll reserve judgment until we know the ability for sure and put it to some testing, but it doesn’t look good.
Meanwhile, the MySmartPrice The leak suggests that the new Razr Plus could land with XT2321 as its model number.
We still don’t know when Motorola can fully reveal this phone, but rumor has it launching in early June. We also have no idea how much it could cost or in which countries it will be available. We’re very excited about the developments on the Cover Display, but we’re worried the phone won’t be easy to recommend if its battery life doesn’t improve significantly. We will need to take a “wait and see” approach to this method.
