Making the best gaming laptops takes something special. It requires not only a deep understanding of the hardware you’re working with, but also an understanding of what an elite gamer needs. MSI, a company with years of experience designing laptops that has worked with some of the best esports players in the world, has that expertise. This expertise comes to the fore with the MSI Titan GT77, which is the world’s most powerful gaming laptop.

The incredibly powerful MSI Titan GT77 and Raider GE laptops are the culmination of this experience.

The world’s most powerful gaming laptop: MSI Titan GT77

Titan, MSI could not have chosen a better word to describe this beast of a machine. While it may look like a laptop, the Titan GT77 offers features that would make many PCs tick. The screen is a super bright 17.3 MIni LED model that reaches 4K 144Hz while also being 100% DCI-P3 compliant and HDR compatible. You get the ultra-low-profile Cherry MX switches—yes, a mechanical keyboard in a laptop—powered by one of Intel’s most powerful CPUs: the Intel Core i9-13980HX, and Nvidia’s most powerful mobile GPU: the Nvidia RTX 4090. 16GB GDDR6.

You’re getting four slots of DDR5 RAM, three NVMe storage slots where one of them supports PCIe Gen5 x4 (translation: stupidly fast), four speakers, LED light bars that help improve ambiance while gaming, and most importantly, the CoolerBoost Titan, which is 4 – fan with 8 heat pipes allows these hot and powerful internals to boost to a whopping 250W TGP. That’s 175 watts available for the GPU, and an additional 75 watts for the CPU. The MUX switch isolates the discrete GPU, allowing you unfettered gaming performance when you need a little extra power.

When it comes to benchmarks, the Titan can pump out close to 100fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX On (DLSS mode perf. in FHD), and between 130 and 200fps in games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. For content creators, Cinebench score is up to 30k.

The port selection is also impressive, with this 3.3kg device boasting support for not only dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, but also Wi-Fi 6E, HDMI 2.1, SD Express, 10Gbps USB, and more.

This is a fancy, yet powerfully built desktop alternative for power users, be it professional gamers, game designers, or content creators.

MSI Raider GE78 HX and GE68 HX | portable powers

The Raider GE78 and GE68 are both cut from the same cloth as the Titan. Although not as extreme as Titan, the Raider series caters to hardcore gamers who need portability and speed.

Both models are quite the same, with the Raider GE78 offering a 17-inch screen while the GE 68 offering a 16-inch screen. Both feature MUX switches to allow the GPU to perform at its best, and are coated in an eye-catching dark titanium gray metal finish that looks very stylish.

The Raider GE78 went all out, packing an Intel Core i9-13980 HX combo and an RTX 4080 that was only beaten by the 4090 in the Titan GT77. Thanks to OverBoost Ultra and the very capable CoolerBoost 5 with co-piping design, this laptop can also boost 250W TGP, with 175W dedicated to the GPU and 75W to the CPU. The joint piping design is particularly interesting here, as it allows the system to passively balance heat between the CPU and GPU, dissipating heat more effectively and allowing components to have more headroom when space is needed. Thanks to this technology, the CPU can increase to 5.2 GHz on P cores.

As for the screen, you can game on an ultra-fast 240Hz QHD+ panel that supports DCI-P3 color gamut.

The Raider GE68 HX is 400 grams lighter and more portable, and still packs in an incredibly powerful Intel Core i9-13950HX CPU and RTX 4070 GPU. Benchmarks put the two Raider CPUs on par, so creators who need to CPU performance used by either device. While the GE78’s 4080 pushes 100+fps in popular games like Cyberpunk 2077 (FHD Ultra with RTX Off) and Far Cry 6, the 4070 isn’t far behind at 85-95fps in the same games.

The GE68’s chassis is smaller, but it still packs in the same CoolerBoost 5 Shared Pipe system found on the GE78, allowing the GPU and CPU to hit TGPs of 140W and 55W, respectively. DIsplay options include a 16″ UHD+ 120 Hz option as well as a 16″ QHD+ 240 Hz option. Both support the DCI-P3 series, which appeals to content creators everywhere.

Both laptops support Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, USB-A 10Gbps, USB-C with DP and PD support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and more.

It’s hard to beat such raw power for MSI systems, which is why we believe the MSI Titan GT77 and Raiders will dominate the PC gaming landscape in 2023. Choosing either series will virtually ensure years of uncompromised gaming and productivity.
