- The renders show a device similar in design to its predecessor.
- Nothing Ear 2 may have multipoint Bluetooth connectivity.
We are just over a week away from ear nothing 2 The announcement is scheduled for March 22. Although the announcement is only a few days away, it looks like that won’t stop leaks from spoiling the event early.
Leak – Submitted by technical outlook And tipster OnLeaks – provided some key specs for Nothing’s Incoming Earbuds. Along with these specs, there are several new renders that provide detailed close-ups of each earbud and carrying case.
Based on the images, there are no major external differences between the Nothing Ear 2 and its predecessor which are immediately noticeable. Both consist of a transparent body, have a similar shape, and come in a clear carrying case. However, there are some minor changes in the design.
Unlike the previous iteration, the noise-canceling mic appears to have been moved to the top of the stem. The stem also appears to have a slight branding change, making it clear that this is the Nothing Ear 2.
Moving on to the specifications, the leak suggests that the earphones may have 11.6mm speakers, just like the ear nothing 1. Another aspect they might share is the six-hour battery life. On the Ear 1, however, this was an estimate for playback without active noise cancellation (ANC) on. The leak does not say if this is also the case for the Ear 2.
One area that seems to be making improvement is the carrying case’s battery. If the information is correct, the new carrying case may provide 2 more hours of charging time than the last one, bringing the total time to 36 hours. The case also supports charging through its USB-C port or wirelessly with a Qi-compatible charger.
Additionally, the new earphones are not only said to be 0.2g lighter, include ANC, and have an IP54 rating. Other rumors have also claimed that the Ear 2 could get multipoint Bluetooth and a dedicated ANC feature, both of which the original earbuds don’t have.
