Despite his calm demeanor on the court, the commercial noise around OG Anunoby continues to mount.

Just a day after the file Toronto Star Report The Toronto Raptors were allegedly offered three first-round picks for the 25-year-old forward, another rumor about a possible departure from Anunobi’s only NBA team.

longtime Toronto anchor Bob McCown said Tuesday his podcast Anunobi no longer wants to be a raptor.

“I spoke to an insider inside the NBA yesterday on the phone,” McCown said. “Just by chance he called me. It’s a guy I’ve known for several years. He told me Anunoby wants out of Toronto. Anunoby wants out. He wants to be traded. I don’t know if they’re trying to do something. It’s a name that’s been there for quite some time.”

This isn’t the first time rumors have circulated about Anunobi being unhappy in Toronto. Jake Fisher, then from Bleacher Report, mentioned In May, the striker was “unhappy with his role” and had teams running around hopes of relegating the allegedly disgruntled player.

Anonobe told TSN’s Kate Bernice In November, he was “surprised” to hear the news and admitted he “couldn’t do anything” about having his name in the headlines.

Anunoby is in the middle of a career, averaging 17.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 36.4 percent from three-point range on over five attempts per contest. In addition, he leads the league in steals (90) and steals per game (2.1).

The Indiana University product is under contract for at least one additional season and has a player option for the 2024-25 season. He is earning just over $17 million this year.

Given how poorly the Raptors have fared this season, there has been a lot of speculation about being sold to Toronto at the deadline, with Anunobi among the main favorites due to the supposedly high return he would receive in any trade.

The NBA trade deadline is February 9th.
