What is this bullshit?! Glass mouse mats have been around for a while now. It’s still a niche product, but Razer has just entered the market with its first foray into this space. Unusually, the company has included a warning for people not to use the tempered glass mouse pad as a weapon, to start fires, or to block sunlight (or it could be a warning against sunbathing or starting a fire).
the Razer Atlas It is the company’s first ever glass gaming mouse mat. Made of tempered glass, its ultra-smooth surface is designed for fast scrolling and consistent glide – compared to traditional cloth pads that can cause resistance when pushing a mouse.
Razer writes that the mat is micro-etched with a 2-micrometer composition, so it works seamlessly with the optical sensors. It’s also been specially treated to allow mouse strokes that are much quieter than a regular glass mat, which can be annoying at times.
Elsewhere, the mat has a non-slip rubber base to keep it from moving around your desk, and it’s reinforced for maximum tensile strength and impact resistance, so the glass shouldn’t shatter when you hit your mouse in anger after sniping it. cart for the tenth time. There is also a dustproof surface and rounded edges.
Razer has also included a (presumably funny) graphic on the Atlas product page warning people not to abuse their mouse mat. We see glass being used to magnify the sun’s rays and to light a fire. There is also someone who gets violently hit on the head with an atlas, which, despite his durability, will definitely break him. The middle image is open to interpretation, although it appears that someone is using the atlas to block the sun’s rays, rather than as a self-immolation.
Measuring 17.72″ x 15.75″ (0.19″ thick), the Atlas is a good size for those who like plenty of room for their mouse moves.
While the mat works with all mice, Razer recommends pairing it with the Razer Focus Pro 30K optical sensor found in the likes of the DeathAdder V3 Pro, as the company says this sensor tracks flawlessly on the glass.
Being a premium glass model means that, at $100, the Razer Atlas is pricier than most mouse mats — or gaming mice, for that matter. It is now available worldwide.
