Ross Chastain gears up, Denny Hamlin wins, Darlington wins (and Carl Edwards!) on deck

He is Darlington Any place to visit after brutality in Kansas?

It sure seems Throwback weekend It came a week ago. We had a lot of on-track rage—especially from Kyle Busch’s in-car radio—and some last-lap beating Old people will tell you It was very popular (it wasn’t).

Oh, and the honest-to-goodness punch thrown during the post-race “cool down.” Isn’t it awkward when the guy doing the showdown (Noah Gragson, in this case) is the guy taking the only hit (from Ross Chastain)?

In fairness, Noah threw a punch, but security intercepted it. I’m not sure if that says more about the security guy’s strength or Noah’s lack of it.

Ok, who was Kansas in the “Where the Hell Goes Down” pool?

NASCAR Ball Ross Chastain vs. Noah Gregson? Bumper Denny Hamlin? Or pass? What stands out most about Kansas? vote!

Nascar speed freaks Ross Chastain punches, Denny Hamlin kicks, and now Darlington? Yes!

Carl Edwards returns to NASCAR this weekend. somewhat. He will not be in a driver's uniform.

Next weekend should restore calm, right?

Here’s the thing: you never know. You go to Darlington, where the traffic lane is narrower Richard Petty pantsexpecting all sorts of mayhem, and a picnic may break out in the church.

may be.

I don’t hear church bells, do I? Sunday’s Dance with the Lady in Black has all the benefits of can’t-miss TV.

For good measure, Ryan Newman is returning to NASCAR this week with Rick Ware Racing, and Chase Elliott’s father will be spending some time in the Fox TV booth, as will Carl Edwards. That’s right — Cousin Carl, who has totally pulled Greta Garbo since retiring, comes down to say hello.

You know, you didn’t even mention the Kansas winner?

There’s a lot going on, you know.

You had to love Denny Hamlin’s willingness to play rough with Kyle Larson, as well as Larson’s willingness to accept it for what it is – an agonizing last-lap battle for the win, exactly when things like that happen. If Denny had gotten that physical in stage one or two, Cale probably wouldn’t have understood it.

Kyle would certainly return the favor when the chance presented itself, and Denny would accept him in a polite manner. Yes maybe.
