Are Germany looking for a must-win match against Spain on Sunday?

One of the best matches in the group stage is made even more exciting after Germany lost to Japan to open the tournament. And it is quite reasonable to exclude Germany from the World Cup competitions with the loss of the Spaniards.

Can Germany get a result? Her World Cup hopes will likely depend on it. Here’s what you need to know to bet on Sunday games. All possibilities from BetMGM.

Group arrangement e

1. Spain, 3 points

1. Japan, 3 points

3. Germany, 0 points

4. Costa Rica, 0 points

Odds of winning the fifth set

  • Spain (-300)

  • Japan (+350)

  • (+650) Germany

  • (+15,000) Costa Rica

Odds of finishing 2nd in Group E.

  • Spain (-2500)

  • Japan (-275)

  • (+130) Germany

  • +4000 (Costa Rica)

Japan vs Costa Rica (Over/Under 2.5 goals)

5 a.m. ET Sunday, FS1

  • Japan to win (-225)

  • Costa Rica to win (+725)

  • tie (+320)

Japan’s victory over Germany would have been a surprise in the first round of group stage matches had it not been for Saudi Arabia’s victory over Argentina. Meanwhile, Costa Rica was ulcerated by Spain. The win puts Japan in a great position to advance to the next round and we think that will happen.

Spain versus Germany

2 p.m. ET Sunday, FS1

  • Spain to win (+135)

  • Germany to win (+185)

  • tie (+250)

If Japan wins or draws against Costa Rica earlier in the day, Germany will be knocked out of the World Cup on a loss. We are a little surprised it ended at -145 and less so at +100. We think this can be a particularly cautionary thing given the attacking talent in both teams. Our bold bet for the weekend is a tie bet on +250 with under +100 if you can find a sportsbook that offers that.

Ranking of the sixth group

1. Belgium, 3 points

2. Croatia, 1 point

3. Morocco, one point

4. Canada, 0 points

Odds of winning the sixth set

  • Belgium (-200)

  • (+275) Croatia

  • (+750) Morocco

  • (+1100) Canada

Odds of finishing second in Group F

  • Belgium (-900)

  • Croatia (-135)

  • (+160) Morocco

  • (+240) Canada

Belgium – Morocco (2.5)

8 a.m. ET Sunday, FS1

  • Belgium to win (+100)

  • Morocco wins (+310)

  • tie (+225)

Belgium were on the back foot for most of the first half against Canada, but a goal before half-time was enough to seal the victory. This is a tough Moroccan team that may end up making it to the next round. We love the bow tie here.

Croatia – Canada (2.5)

11 a.m. ET Sunday, FS1

  • Croatia wins (+115)

  • Canada to win (+240)

  • tie (+230)

Canada desperately needs a result to have a reasonable chance of advancing to the knockout rounds. We’re not sure they’ll get it here. Croatia tied with Morocco to start the World Cup and could score one or two goals. We’ll take less than a 2.5 target at -135.
