1. Have dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants
St. Augustine has one of the most underrated food scenes around. There are so many excellent and unique food options out there, it’s hard to go wrong.
Try Harry’s Seafood Bar & GrillIt is a famous seafood restaurant with a romantic setting in the garden. Be prepared to wait up to two hours and arrive early just like Harry does no Reservations accepted. For an off the beaten path dining establishment, highly recommend Chianti Pizzali Room. As the name suggests, Italian is a Chianti specialty and it’s a short walk from Harry’s.
2. Walking on the sidewalk

It’s a peaceful place to listen to the ocean waves, watch the birds, and escape the crowds of the city center. It is 5 minutes’ drive from historic St. Augustine city center and has its own free parking. Due to the popularity of the area, it is recommended to visit early as the parking lot can fill up quickly and the sidewalk can get crowded.

3. Climb the lighthouse

Early morning strolls are an easy way to beat the crowds, take photos of historic landmarks, and enjoy a peaceful view of all that St. George has to offer.
Make sure to take a picture of the old city gate, the oldest wooden school, and the Bena Bek House while walking down St. George Street. Most stores don’t open until mid-morning, so keep that in mind if shopping is your goal.
6. Visit the Castillo de San Marcos
The most visited tourist attraction in Saint Augustine is Castillo de San Marcos. Castillo de San Marcos is one of two forts constructed of coquina, a soft limestone formed from broken shells. It is also the oldest remaining stone fort in the United States! Originally built by the Spanish, Castillo de San Marcos was designed to protect the Spanish settlement of St. Augustine from the raids of pirates and other hostile neighbors.
After paying the entrance fee, you are welcome to walk inside the castle and explore the many hidden rooms. Without an entry fee, it’s still possible to walk along the exterior and snap an Instagram-worthy photo.
