This Mac app makes it easy to create your own AI images with Stable Diffusion • TechCrunch

Everyone wants to participate in the process of creating images with artificial intelligence, but if you have been intimidated by the current options available on the basis of stable spreadincluding the Midjourney Discord bot, you’re in luck: Diffusion Bee is a simple Mac app It gives you everything you need to create your own images from a text prompt using the open source AI image creation framework.

The app, developed by Divam Gupta, requires absolutely no technical expertise and is installed on M1 Macs via drag and drop. You’ll need an M1 or M2 Mac running at least macOS 15.2, however – the app takes advantage of Apple Silicon’s built-in AI and runs the Stable Diffusion model locally, which has the added advantage of ensuring nothing is sent to any servers.

You can modify settings including the height and width of the image, as well as the number of steps the form goes through to generate the result, and the “routing scale” – how important the form places in the text prompts when generating its results. Note that in my testing at least, setting these parameters higher than the default settings resulted in significant increases in the time it took to produce images.

This is a super easy (and free) way to start playing Stable Diffusion on your own, provided you have a Mac to use it.
