This mashup proves that Michael Scott would make the “best captain in the world” Sheppard

Just For Laughs: At my age, sarcasm has tempered my sense of humor to the point where I can at least swallow before laughing at something. Therefore, I rarely encounter a situation that causes me to take a spit. Today, that has changed, and I still find coffee grounds across my desk that I need to wipe down before they get stained.

To see what I mean, watch at least the first 10 seconds of the masthead video. But I suspect you’re going to want to watch the whole thing after the top ten, and you should, especially before reading on because I’m about to drop some spoilers that will ruin the gags.

Youtube eli_handle_b․wav Eli devotes his spare time to “green rendering” movie and TV characters in popular video games using Adobe After Effects video editing software. The latter puts “The World’s Best Boss” Michael Scott from The Office aboard Mass Effect’s SSV Normandy to great comic effect. It’s his best work to date.

The opener that caused me to take a spit was classic michael scott and it was funnier than original scene I borrowed from the office. And the laughter didn’t stop there.

Michael panics and tells everyone to “keep calm” while completely panicking when the Normandy is shot down very well. I loved the way he shoved Ashley into the flames so he could get to the exit door. Then a cut to CCTV footage of him running down one of the ship’s service corridors sold the scene.

The video is the best video Ellie has posted to date. Most of the others feel like trailers, while this one, with its very clever The Office/Mass Effect music mix and somewhat coherent scenes, feels a bit like a mini-episode of a show I eagerly watched regularly.

Also, some of the effects are more subtle and mature than previous matches. For example, note the scene where Michael uses the doll to slap the Joker in the face while he’s piloting the ship. Flashes of the Joker coincide with every punch, promoting the idea that the Joker is just trying to ignore Michael’s childhood. And the slight camera shake throughout the video gives it that documentary vibe used by The Office.

If you want more, you can try Elle’s Austin Powers/Mass Effect Part 1 (above) or Part 2, which is not bad. There are a variety of others browse through as well.
