Tottenham add ex-Real Madrid scout to recruitment team

Tottenham have added former Real Madrid scout Jeff Vettery to their back team.

Tottenham have overhauled their recruitment structure after the arrival of Fabio Paratici as general manager of football in the summer of 2021.

The Italian was instrumental in appointing Antonio Conte as head coach in November 2021, while overseeing most of Spurs. Transfer Work after the resignation of artistic performance director Steve Hitchen.

Vetere also has experience as a scout at Newcastle and Aston Villa, while he has held management positions at Charlton and Birmingham.

The 56-year-old joins a host of new appointments behind the scenes at Tottenham. In July, former Everton head of recruitment and development Gretar Stenson joined as performance director, while Rangers chief scout signed Andy Skulding as head of football strategy.

Manchester City academy head Simon Davies moved to Tottenham in August, and scout Chris Scudder joined after spells with West Ham, Derby, Brentford and Leeds.

Club legend Jermain Defoe and former city center player Yaya Toure have been named to the academy staff in recent months.
