Tottenham’s bid to cling to fourth place in the Premier League continues after being knocked out of the Champions League by AC Milan with a trip to Southampton on Saturday.
Any game against a team at the bottom of the table for a team in the Tottenham position has to end in three points, especially with Liverpool and Newcastle now chasing in earnest for fourth place.
Antonio Conte may appear to be at war with some members of his squad, but he should get the best out of them in the last 11 games of the season. It could be Conte’s last game in charge of Tottenham.
Here is the 11th it may go to the Italian coach to claim three points against the south coast.
GK: Fraser Forster – In order to stand in for the injured Hugo Lloris, Forester needs to ensure he can make a solid work and save a penalty in the win over Forest.
Center back: Christian Romero – His solid defense might endear him to fans of his side, but Romero has left Spurs in trouble several times. He will need to be as solid and available as possible during the second round in order to spurs.
CB: Eric Dier – He has been a very consistent figure in the Spurs defense all season and there is no reason for that to change as the season draws to a close.
CB: Clement Lenglet – The Frenchman will be hoping his midfield and forwards can make for a somewhat quiet day for him in defense against Southampton.
read the following
Right back: Pedro Boro – With Emerson Royal recently out but potentially fit to return here, we can see if Burrow has done enough to convince Conte it’s his job.
CM: Pierre-Emile Hojberg – The Dane is one of the many strong players at Tottenham who should have the ability to manage this kind of game for their team.
Name: Oliver Skip – Skip has made a role for himself at Tottenham under Conte which suits him, and there were some rumblings for him to be included in Gareth Southgate’s latest England team. Conte is expected to stay with him here.
Left-back: Ben Davies – This wing-back role isn’t Davies’ best, but Ivan Perisic has struggled of late and with Ryan Sessegnon injured, the Welshman has shown just how important his versatility is.
RW: Richarlison – After the war of words with Conte, the Italian coach seems willing to give Richarlison a series of matches now that he is fit, and it is up to the Brazilian player.
Attacker: Harry Kane – With so much talk of the England captain possibly leaving the club, Tottenham fans may need to enjoy the remaining matches this season in which he will surely score some goals.
LW: Son Heung-min – The South Korea international has been struggling with form but there is no chance Conte will stop using him.
