There are more high speed packet races in store this weekend eg The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the Atlanta Speedwayfranken track. Ahead of the 2022 season, the Speedway Department completed a facelift for the 1.54-mile circuit that narrowed the corners and raised the banking to 28 degrees to encourage more 2.5-mile-like races at Daytona and Talladega.
The results were mixed. While the organizers got the exciting racing package they wanted, there were 22 cautions between two races for accidents. That’s more than the last four races at Daytona and Talladega combined. Settled in for a long Sunday afternoon.
