Washington is moving. Pennsylvania, Oregon relocates

Washington debuted her season in the AP Top 25 poll at 18th, and Pennsylvania and Oregon moved into the top 15 with all three crucial non-conference victories.

A blast-packed weekend by highly-rated teams kept the top ten virtually unchanged.

The top-ranked Georgia had six more votes at number one in the top 25 votes provided by the Bank of Regions. The Bulldogs total 59 votes in first place and 1,569 points.

Alabama No. 2 got three first place votes and Ohio No. 3 got one.

Fourth in Michigan, No. 5 Clemson, No. 6 Oklahoma and No. 7 Southern California took their positions. The only change in the top ten was No. 8 Kentucky flopping with No. 9 Oklahoma State. Arkansas stayed at No. 10.

The top 10 teams, most of which played in non-conference competitions, won their matches on Saturday with a total of 521-120.

Confusion came in the next ten.

No. 11 Tennessee is up four points. Penn State jumped by eight to 14th after defeating Auburn on the road. 15 Oregon advanced 10 points after easily defeating BYU, which dropped seven places to No. 19.

Washington beat formerly ranked Michigan State 39-28 to earn a ranking for the first time since the 2021 pre-season poll. Washington has had two brief stays in the AP Top 25 in the last two seasons, but hasn’t ranked mostly since the early part of the 2019 season.

“To get that win now we will continue to put that faith in our guys. It will only get better for us when we go to work in practice, first-year Washington coach. Calin Deborah Reporters after the game.

Michigan State gave up all the way after ranking 11th.

Mississippi moved up four places to No. 16 and Florida slipped into No. 20 after barely making it to South Florida at home.

At the bottom of the standings, Miami dropped 12 places and dropped to 25 after losing to Texas A&M. The Aggies team climbed to 23rd place.
