This was supposed to be the season in which West Ham continues. After finishing seventh in the Premier League and enjoying a memorable campaign in the Europa League, David Moyes’ Hammers have been able to lure the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Schamacca to east London in the summer.

With the retention of Declan Rice and the strengthening of their squad, West Ham were seemingly poised for another flourishing campaign. But instead, the ghosts of previous eras reappeared. The Iron have had a miserable domestic season and the possibility of relegation cannot be ruled out.

They are flirting with danger at the bottom of the table, and this is what West Ham’s Premier League table to finish the season looks like.

West Ham vs Southampton

Man City’s adventures in the FA Cup mean we won’t see West Ham play again until after the international break. And boy, what a big thing to bring back.
