Wales and Iran will be looking for better results as they meet in the second round of Group B matches at the World Cup.

Wales needed a late penalty to save them from a draw with the USA on Monday night, while England narrowly thrashed Iran in the dying minutes.

If either side wanted their World Cup campaign to extend beyond this first round, they couldn’t get away with anything other than winning. This is particularly important for Wales, who still face the toughest game of the group next when they meet England.

The Qatar-Senegal match in the second round of Group A matches in the 2022 World Cup is a must-win match for both teams.

The Netherlands and Ecuador meet in the second round of the World Cup group stage with the aim of preserving their perfect start.

Louis van Gaal’s side were mostly unimpressive, but managed to score two late goals to beat Senegal, while La Tri defeated hosts Qatar on the opening night.

England and the United States will continue their World Cup campaign when they meet on Friday at Al Bayt Stadium.

The Three Lions come into this squad feeling relieved after beating Iran 6-2, climbing to the top of Group B and needing just one more win to book their place in the knockout stages of the tournament.

As for the United States, they gave up their lead with a 1-1 draw with Wales in the opening match, and with their first opponent facing Iran earlier in the day, they may find themselves needing a big result here to keep up the pace.
